UGANDA
December 2025
THE PEARL OF AFRICA
Uganda is a vibrant, landlocked country in East Africa, home to over 45 million people. Its lively capital, Kampala, sits on the northern shores of Lake Victoria and pulses with music, markets, and a strong sense of community. Formerly a British colony, Uganda gained independence in 1962 and has since grown into a nation full of resilience and cultural richness.
From dense rainforests where mountain gorillas roam to wide open savannahs teeming with wildlife, Uganda offers a rare blend of raw nature and human warmth that makes every journey unforgettable. Highlights include spotting tree-climbing lions in Queen Elizabeth National Park—an experience found in only a few places on Earth. And if you're cruising the backroads in your car, be ready for just about anything: a herd of longhorn cattle, a roadside Rolex stand, or a breathtaking view around the next bend.
EXPLORING UGANDA
This trip has been a long time coming. Ever since we drove our Defender through Egypt and Sudan, seeing the mountain gorillas has been high on our list. We didn’t make it that far back then—but now feels like the perfect time to finally turn that dream into reality.
We’ll build our route around this once-in-a-lifetime encounter, starting with a rooftop tent and a trusty 4x4 rental in Kampala. From there, we’ll hit the road to explore Uganda’s wild landscapes, iconic national parks, and hidden gems.
Uganda, show us your magic.
